Last appearing in Redding in 2014, Marley's Ghost returns in the wake of releasing The Woodstock Sessions, a project helmed by Grammy Award winning producer Larry Campbell. Known for his artful work with Levon Helm and Bob Dylan, among countless others, Campbell guides the Ghost’s dig into its garden of deep roots to uncover a host of hidden gems. Featuring its trademark multi-part harmonies and multi-instrumental skills, the band’s 11th album is a resonant road trip through America’s past set firmly in the present.
Marley’s Ghost is currently celebrating its 27th anniversary of being together as a band. Based in northern California, they are nothing less than a national treasure, the capable inheritors of the archetypal Americana blueprint in the tradition of The Band. The group features Dan Wheetman on guitar, fiddle, bass, banjo, and blues harp, Jon Wilcox on mandolin, guitar, and bouzouki, Mike Phelan on guitars, dobro, fiddle, bass, and lap steel, Jerry Fletcher on percussion and keyboards, and Ed Littlefield on guitars, dobro, pedal steel guitar, and Highland bagpipes. The band can play anything with spot-on feel, from roots to rock, blues to bluegrass, gospel to country. And they all sing! Their trademark multi-part harmonies never cease to captivate, whether on record or in live performance.
For a great evening of music that draws on everything from country to reggae, English folk to gospel, rhythm and blues to Scottish bag pipe tunes, catch Marley's Ghost at the Pilgrim Church!
