Wildways: Great Shasta Rail Trail Excursion
One of our latest conservation projects, the Great Shasta Rail Trail is a scenic multi-use 80-mile cinder trail system connecting McCloud and Burney. Hop on your bicycle for a morning ride with supporters and friends. Our route will showcase highlights of this spectacular trail and we will learn about recent and upcoming improvements from the Great Shasta Rail Trail Association. The ride will be 20-30 miles total. Riders can refuel with a potluck buffet and local craft beer and wine post-ride. Mountain bikes are suggested for this cinder trail. Shasta Land Trust’s Wildways series of fundraising events is a fun and unique way for people to contribute to the preservation of significant lands in far northern California. Connecting people and places, the Wildways events feature some of the most interesting and fun outings in the North State! Hosted by volunteers, all proceeds from ticket sales support Shasta Land Trust’s mission to conserve local land.
