Light The Night
In Memory of Bette Jean Sisney
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Light The Night Walk funds treatments that are saving the lives of patients today. LLS is making cures happen by providing patient support services, advocacy for lifesaving treatments and the most promising cancer research anywhere. And it's all happening now. Not someday, but today. The inspiration behind bringing this incredible event to Redding is Bette Jean Sisney who passed away October 16, 2003 after fighting cancer three times before losing her battle. The Light The Night Walk is a beautiful way to keep loved one’s memories alive, bring hope to others who are still fighting this disease, and shine a light on the importance of finding a cure. Together, with the community, we will be literally lighting the night with hope. Every individual who raises $100 or more on Walk night will receive an illuminated lantern, t-shirt, and dinner provided by Jersey Mikes. The 3 mile Walk will begin at Civic Auditorium, continue on the River Trail, turn up Hilltop to Best Buy, loop back down to the River Trail at Dana, and finish at Civic Auditorium. It is an all levels event that is accessible to patients, families, and friends! On behalf of the one million people in the United States who are living with or are in remission from blood cancers, we cannot thank you enough for your support. We hope you will consider partnering with us on this venture and join us in the fight to end blood cancers.
