Shasta Land Trust’s 7th Annual Great Sierra River Cleanup
Join Shasta Land Trust in its 7th annual Great Sierra River Cleanup on Saturday, September 19th. Last year alone, Shasta Land Trust and its incredible group of volunteers removed more than 1,500 pounds of trash and 300 pounds of recyclables from Churn Creek and Boulder Creek! This is a perfect outdoor activity for community and school groups, families, and individuals to have a positive impact on the health of our local communities and watersheds. Children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult. And, of course, lunch will be provided after the cleanup! There are plenty of other ways you can help with the event, too - from delivering lunches to volunteers to photographing the event to helping promote it in local media. This cleanup is an annual event coordinated by the Sierra Nevada Conservancy and held in conjunction with California Coastal Cleanup Day. Together, these events removed more than 1.1 million pounds of trash and recyclables from waterways all over California in 2014. To sign up for the Great Sierra River Cleanup or for more information, contact Jake at the Shasta Land Trust via email: firstname.lastname@example.org or phone: 530-241-7886 Waterways connect us all. Let’s do our part to keep them clean!
