Summer Children’s Art Classes at SAM
Art teacher and musician, Debbie Beanez Blackwell ( known to youngsters as Miss Debbie), will be offering weekly summer art classes exclusively at Siskiyou Arts Museum (SAM) in Dunsmuir. Classes will be held on Thursdays from 10am to noon beginning on July 9th and continuing every Thursday through Aug.12th. Children ages 6 thorough 12 will explore a different medium each week, including drawing, paper crafts, painting with acrylics, watercolors, pastels, pencil sketching, scratch art, pop-up cards, and much more. The young artists will bring home a different work of art each week. Miss Debbie has 33 years of experience working with children through art and music. She has taught children’s art at schools and resource centers throughout southern Siskiyou County as well as giving private art lessons. She is currently teaching at Castle yRock Elementary and Golden Eagle Charter School. Early registration for the 6 week program is $25. Space is limited. Call Siskiyou Arts Museum, 235-4711, to reserve your space, or come to SAM during weekly business hours, Thursday through Sunday to register. Same day registration on July 9th is $30 if space is still available.
