10th Annual Farm City Harvest Festival at Bidwell Mansion

Bidwell Mansion State Historic Park and Farm City Harvest Festival is Saturday, November 8 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Bidwell Mansion State Historic Park, 525 Esplanade Chico, CA. The Harvest Festival is a free, rain or shine event and has fun agricultural related hands-on activities, food and more. The farm is brought to the city for this agriculture day with tractors on display, a 4-H interactive animal display featuring sheep, goats, rabbits and poultry and other events including cattle roping, stock dog demonstrations, cow milking, apple painting, native plant sale, rope making, spinning demonstration, and so much more. For a small fee, guests can take a TJ Farms carriage ride around the Mansion and finish with burgers from the Madison Bear Garden. Boy Scout Troop 2 will be at the event scouting for food, so make sure to bring canned food items. The troop will also be building a rope bridge obstacle course for kids of all ages to enjoy. Miss Butte County Court will be assisting in arts and crafts and games with Girl Scouts. During the event, visitors can browse through the first floor of the Mansion with staff and volunteers available to answer questions. The Visitor Center, gift shop, and restrooms will be open along with the exhibit hall and Carriage House which will be displaying historic carriages and wagons. To ease parking, a small shuttle will run from Chico Junior High School to the Harvest Festival. The first 500 families will receive a free reusable bag full of local goodies, so bring the whole family!
