4-H Information Night!

Have you ever thought about joining 4-H? Here is your chance to find out about all the great activities and learning opportunities the Shasta County 4-H Program has to offer your family! Come join us at an informal open house and information night on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 from 6-7 p.m. at the Redding Library, located at 1100 Parkview Avenue, Redding. Members and leaders from the sixteen Redding area clubs will be on hand to share their enthusiasm about each of their clubs and invite you to join. In addition to our clubs, there are seventeen county-wide projects, ranging from dairy goats to GIS/GPS, rocketry to shooting sports. 4-H truly has something for everyone. Family participation is encouraged and welcome. In addition to the many projects that members may enroll in, 4-H gives youth the opportunity to become involved in their community through service projects of their choosing. Leadership skills and public speaking are also emphasized in an encouraging atmosphere. Projects and clubs are led by certified adult volunteers who have had experience in 4-H. For further information please call the University of California Cooperative Extension/4-H Office at 530-224-4900 or visit The office is open Monday – Friday, from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. This is the beginning of the new 4-H year so now is the perfect time to join and become part of the ‘Shasta 4-H Family’ for 2014-2015. The Shasta County 4-H members and leaders hope to see you there!
