Great Shasta Rail Trail Burney grand opening and trail day

Outdoor recreation on a red cinder former rail bed near Burney

Look at the beautiful sky overhead as you bike, hike, walk, or ride horseback on a red cinder trail, formerly the McCloud Railway.  Nearly 10 miles of trail is open from Burney to the famous "Stand By Me" bridge.  The bridge is featured in the opening sequence of 1986 same named movie.

A grand dedication of the new Burney Trailhead begins at 10 a.m. in the trailhead parking lot, approximately 500 feet from the intersection of Highway 299 and Black Ranch Road, east of Burney.

Enjoy a day in the mountains surrounded by Mother Nature!
