Pete Seeger: The Power of Song, presented by Tim Holt
In this one-man performance, Tim Holt portrays Pete Seeger, who tells his life story and sings songs from the various chapters in his life. In this presentation Pete talks about growing up in a musical family, his travels around the country with Woody Guthrie, singing with the Almanacs and the Weavers, and his involvement in causes that include the labor movement, the civil rights movement, and cleaning up the Hudson River near his home. Tim Holt has been performing music programs in West Coast venues for the past decade. His interest in Pete Seeger and folk music dates back to the Folk Revival of the 1960s, when he learned to play the banjo one summer using Pete Seeger’s “How To Play The Five-String Banjo” instruction manual.
