WordSpring

Creative Writing Conference

Writers, craft your way to success at our sixth annual WordSpring Creative Writing Conference, Saturday, April 29, with a Kick-off Reading and Reception Friday evening, April 28. WordSpring offers a full day of inspiring workshops for beginning to advanced writers, designed to give you hands-on techniques on all aspects of writing from marketing, to plot, character, voice and style. Each workshop is carefully developed by working authors to create tips and insights you can apply to your novels, memoirs, short stories, songs and scripts. This year’s featured authors are dynamic keynote speaker, memoirist and Artistic Director for the Festival of Literary Diversity in Canada, Jael Richardson, as well as Andrew Lam, award winning novelist and regular commentator on NPR’s “All Things Considered,” and author of Perfume Dreams: Reflections on the Vietnamese Diaspora, East Eats West: Writing in Two Hemispheres, and Birds of Paradise Lost. Included in our lineup are mystery writer Susan Spann, poets Ken Letko, Catherine Hodges and Jeanne Clark, novelists Eric Witchey, Finn Kraemer, Erica Traverso and Zu Vincent, songwriter Stacey Bartlett, The North State Writers and our lively Student Salon facilitated by the Butte College Literary Arts Club.
