Redding Ninja Weekend
By Emily J. Miranda
AMERICAN NINJA WARRIORS, Daniel Gil and Jonathan Horton, will be in Redding from July 27 to July 29 for Redding’s Ninja Weekend. The event will be hosted by Neighborhood Church of Redding, who will be opening their doors to make room for, not only the multi-challenge obstacle course dubbed the ‘Ninja Gym’, but also a weekend long experience of motivation, excitement and all-around fun!
Gil, formerly a theater performer and dancer with Magnify Dance Company, has now built a strong platform around being a professional ninja, using his success to inspire others nationwide. Horton, too, has built a platform for himself, but not just through American Ninja Warriors. Horton is a retired Olympian, having competed as a male gymnast in both the 2008 Beijing Olympics and 2012 Summer London Olympics. Redding’s Ninja Weekend grants spectators to hear from both of these well-accomplished men as they share their stories of how they became ninja warriors and what it takes to become one.
The event offers the chance to run the ninja obstacle course, or to simply be a spectator and watch others try their hand at it. Anyone can purchase a ticket to a 90 minute session in the Ninja Gym, where they will be introduced to Gil and Horton and given time to attempt the various obstacles inspired by the show. The Ninja Gym is only available to participants ages 6 and up, and is generously being contributed by Ninja Coalition.
All incoming 6th to 12th grade students are invited to an exclusive ninja session from 6pm to 7pm on Friday 27. The special youth event includes a chance to meet the ninja warriors, take pictures with them and run the obstacle course.
Whether you aspire to be a ninja, meet one, or simply wish to test your physical skills and agility, Redding Ninja Weekend invites you to come and take part in this spectacular weekend! More details below:
