The hustle and bustle of the holidays are upon us – we encourage you to make time to truly enjoy the magic of the season.
Pull out that sparkly reindeer cardigan and get your heart rate up at the Siskiyou YMCA Ugly Sweater Christmas Run, which also raises money to fund scholarships for various Y activities throughout the year. And while you’re up north, we’ve got some fun ideas for enjoying that snowy paradise even beyond the typical (but oh-so-fun!) skiing and snowboarding adventures.
One way to embrace the Christmas spirit is to treat yourself to some quality time with the arts. The beautiful Cascade Theatre will once again host the heart-tugging “A Cascade Christmas,” followed by “A Celtic Christmas,” a deliberately low-tech production that promises a night full of old-fashioned entertainment. Or explore other types of art by checking out the Tehama Art Studio Tour, where you might even find your own creative inspiration by enjoying the artwork of others in their home studios.
Need some tips for corralling the chaos in your home? Check out the plethora of tips provided by Redding’s Anna Moseley, whose “Ask Anna” blog about organization, cleaning and decorating is internationally recognized. Wouldn’t it be glorious to begin the year clutter-free?
If you’re still working on your shopping list, check out Gifts for Good, where visitors can support local and global philanthropic efforts through purchases and donations. And of course, you can support local artisans by doing some shopping at Enjoy the Store, where we’ll help you select the perfect hand-crafted gift for everyone on your list, and wrap them up in our signature wooden crates.
Celebrate this festive season with love, unity, generosity and compassion. Enjoy!
