Joy Lyn’s Candies began in 1969 in the home of Don and Joan Memmer located in Paradise, Calif. Don, a professional candy maker, converted their patio into a candy kitchen, mini factory and tiny retail store. The couple named the business after the middle names of their two daughters.
Pam and Bill Hartley purchased Joy Lyn’s Candies in 2000 and became the fourth owners of the business. They have received recognition from the Confectionery Industry as well as Innovate North-State for their business collaboration with Chico’s Sierra Nevada Brewery in making Beer Peanut Brittle with Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, which can be found in Enjoy the Store in Redding.
“The Sierra Nevada Beer Brittle is practically our best selling product,” says Enjoy the Store manager James Mazzotta.
Enjoy the Store carries three types of Sierra Nevada Beer Brittle, the original peanut brittle made with Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, Jalapeno, peanut brittle made with Sierra Nevada Pale Ale and jalapenos and Chocolate Crunch, premium chocolate blended with crunchy beer brittle. The original beer brittle is $12.95, the Jalapeno is $13.95 and the Chocolate Crunch is $8.95.
